2. Project Objective
The general objective of the project is to assimilate the results of the CCSACBRNE research within the project Individual Immediate Decontamination Kit, by transferring the product manufacturing technology to the economic agent SC STIMPEX SA.
3. Abstract
The proliferation of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) weapons constitutes a direct military threat to the population, territory and forces of the Allies, representing a serious concern for the Alliance. The transformation strategy of the Romanian Army has as its fundamental goal the creation of new military capabilities that will allow the forces to carry out the entire range of military missions according to NATO and EU requirements, standards and procedures. In the case of CBRN terrorist incidents or military actions using weapons of mass destruction, individual decontamination is an extremely urgent measure to save personnel from all categories of military forces or specialized intervention teams, as well as the unprotected civilian population. Any delay has a significant impact on the accomplishment of combat missions, the volume of losses and the success of recovery. CCSACBRNE has experience in detection, identification and decontamination in the event of CBRN and/or ecological events. There is also the know-how in addressing specific decontamination research, by developing products and technologies usable in the field of CBRN decontamination. CCSACBRNE also has the specific infrastructure for research and testing in the field of CBRN. Thus, during the period 2013-2015, within the PSCD of the Ministry of Defense, in CCSACBRNE, the Individual Immediate Decontamination Kit – TIDI, a product intended to protect military personnel against chemical warfare agents and biological agents, was developed at the research prototype level. SC STIMPEX SA is a Romanian company specialized in the production of individual and collective protection equipment, equipment and materials necessary for decontamination, as well as in the design and production of complex CBRN equipment and means. STIMPEX has a high-performance R&D department and the capability to take over the research results in production.
The estimated results are: the production of the industrial prototype batch (200 pcs.), its testing and evaluation in an environment relevant to real operating conditions, operational testing with troops and product approval. At the end of the project, a complete test report of the industrial prototype, the operational test report, the physical configuration audit, the functional configuration audit and the official approval analysis will result. The industrial manufacturing technology will also be developed and validated.
